PORCH CONVERSATIONS

“Porch Conversations” is Denniston Hill’s public forum, where artists, scholars, activists, intellectuals, and cultural leaders discuss and explore thematic issues and questions, responding to some of the most pressing social and political issues of our time.

The format is named for the gatherings and conversations that organically form each residency session on the front porch of Denniston Hill’s main house. At the end or the beginning of a full day working in the studio, the library, or the garden, our porch becomes a site where the multiple constituencies of Denniston Hill—local, global, rural, urban—come together to share ideas, stories, and concerns.

At once open ands sheltered, the porch is a forum and a laboratory, where ideas can be rehearsed, argued, revised, and re-played.
